TOEJECTILES!!! 1st June 2007
People who poke around the non-video game areas of my site may remember The Krypton Force Trailer Guy. Now, thanks to the magic of Veoh, I've been able to upload an entire Krypton Force tape for your viewing pleasure and/or morbid curiosity. Also, I got a better ripping program, so there are no ugly lines this time. Hooray!

In the words of The Trailer Guy: "Numbah free in the series is the Sci-Bots, free humanoid types 'oo protect the Princess Uh-ora an' fight evil froo the galaxy. They try to defeat the armies of evil mutants 'oo attack their ship". The original series is by Leiji Matsumoto (Space Battleship Yamato, Galaxy Express 999, Super Incongruous Space Transport Adventure 2097), based on the Chinese fable Journey to the West. Only instead of a monk and three spirits on a pilgrimage to India, it's a space princess and three cyborgs on a pilgrimage to a black hole.

The main character sounds exactly like the squeaky-voiced teenager from The Simpsons. The villains are an evil koala and a cucumber with a really high voice. There's a plant woman who talks about "de-flowering" the princess in a way that can't be unintentional. Typical dialogue includes "You must stay to work in my mines, digging up the silver, gold and jewels I love so much!", "They are the ones who put me into the black hole and left me there to be squeezed!" and "He's really........... A despicable person!". Krypton Force Trailer Guy appears at the end, and you can finally see the entire thing, including the actual trailers he's talking about. NIGHTMARES AND VISIONS OF PEACEFUL AURA BEING LAID TO WASTE BY MUTANT INVADERS CLOUD MY DAYS.

Also, 11:43. I'm just saying.

IT MIGHT BE CALM, BUT IT'S NEVER EMPTY 30th May 2007
Where does the time go? Into writing other stuff, I guess. Hmm. No, I haven't abandoned this place, it's just that I can't think of anything relevant to actually put here. I picked up a copy of Symphony of the Night and played through it on a PS1 emulator, which was a nice reminder of the fact I really do like video games a lot. Unfortunately, everything it's possible to say about Symphony of the Night has been said already.

Here's something I'm willing to bet nobody reading this has seen, though. I was in the right country at the right time, and I didn't even know about it until it surfaced at a charity op shop.

I could explain who Bruce Samazan was, but you wouldn't believe me. Watch the video instead. Sorry for the appalling quality, but it's been lifted from a decade old VHS, converted to AVI, then converted to a low-res WMV, then into an FLV. If something's too blurry to make out, it's probably another Coke logo.

Out for now.

Your pal,
Richie

THE "BUILD UP" WHEAT CEREAL 18th March 2007

Yet more rubbish I've saved from decaying VHS tapes.

CREATIVE CRITTERS 6th March 2007
Something else I found while cleaning, although not quite as cool as Asskicker, is The Nintendo Magazine System Creative Critters Competition from 1994. It's a travesty that the likes of Syphco Man, Large Sarge and Yoshi With A Shotgun have remained undiscovered for so many years.

OKAY SO 5th March 2007
Rightio.

I got a lot of feedback. Well, speaking relatively it was a lot. I've decided, as a result, not to close the site, since the vast majority of people seem to not have any problems with me. I am, however, getting rid of the forum and blog sections, since any attempt at a "community" just seems to end up making me tired and cross. Will hopefully have something new up this week.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY 14th February 2007

This took longer to make than I'm comfortable admitting.
