(A/N the final chapter! it was gonna be longer but i have a lot of work to do... being on the school council is tough! so thanks for all the support and i hope you like the ending ^_^)
Chapter III (3)
Richard III was not looking forward to today (A/N it's the next day btw). Not only would he have to put up with all the bad things that regularly happened to him at school, but Caliban wouldn't be there to help him through it. It was already the worst day of his life.
He sat at his usual table. He didn't feel like eating, so he just opened a Pepsi. He was contemplating what a terrible day it had been when someone sat opposite him... it was Portia! This was getting crazier and crazier every day, just like Axl Rose.
"Hey", said Portia.
"Hey" said Richard III.
"Do you mind if I sit here?" she asked.
"No" replied Richard III.
"Since Macbeth and Caliban both have detention, I thought we could sit together. I really enjoyed talking to you yesterday. It's so cool that you don't think Anime is just for kids"
"You're cool too" he replied.
"Thanks" Portia smiled back, then said something else "Richard III, you're pretty smart, and I have a question for you. If a girl is dating a guy she doesn't like, and there's another guy that she does, what should she do?"
"She should break up with the guy she doesn't like" answered Richard III.
"Thanks! That was a big help!" said Portia, and hugged Richard III. It felt like it lasted forever. For once, he felt like Caliban wasn't the only person that cared about him.
The next day was the day of the night of the big dance, and Richard III had nobody to go with. He knew that none of the girls would say yes, so he didn't even bother asking. He was sitting at his usual table drinking a Pepsi and eating some Mamee-brand uncooked noodles. Caliban sat down next to him.
"Richard III, Portia gave this to me during Computer Skills class. It's for you" said Caliban, and handed Richard III a note. Richard III opened it.
"Richard III", it read, "I can't ask you this in public because Macbeth will see, but do you want to come to the big dance with me? If you do, call me on 555 123 456". Richard III felt his heart stop for a second, and could feel a strange feeling he could not explain go through his entire body. Was it happiness? No, it was... Love!
As soon as Richard III got home, he opened a Pepsi and called Portia. She picked up the phone almost instantly. "Oh wow, it's so cool that you're free to go with me!" she happily said excitedly.
"Not at all," replied Richard III, "I should be the one who's thanking you for a chance to go to the dance with the most popular, beautiful girl in school".
Portia sighed with happiness on the other end of the line "OK, meet me there at eight! Bye!".
Richard III showed up to the dance hall half an hour early because he was so excited. He was wearing his dad's old suit. Portia showed up not long after, dressed Spanishly.
"You look hot" said Richard III.
"Thanks" said Portia, "now let's dance".
They went inside the hall where everyone else was dancing. They all gasped when they saw Richard III and Portia come in as a couple. "Ignore them", said Portia, "I only care about being with you".
Suddenly, there was some sort of bang and Macbeth stormed into the hall. "What are you doing with that loser, Portia?" he demanded.
"He's not a loser!" she replied, "he's a nice guy who treats me like a person and understands the true meaning of Anime"
"Anime is for kids!" roared Macbeth "If you want to be with that loser, then we're through! And I'm going to make sure you NEVER lead a cheer again!". He turned to leave, but slipped over on some spilled Pepsi and fell over with a horrible cracking sound. Doctor Gildenstern rushed over and examined him. "I'm sorry, Macbeth, but you'll never play football again". They wheeled him out on a stretcher and everyone got back to dancing.
Richard III and Portia danced together for what seemed like forever but was actually half an hour. Then the DJ started playing a familliar song.
She's got a smile that it seems to me
Reminds me of childhood memories
Where everything
Was as fresh as the bright blue sky
Now and then when I see her face
She takes me away to that
special place
And if I stared too long
I'd probably break down and cry
Sweet child o' mine
"I heard someone sing this song the other night" said Portia. "It was beautiful"
"That... was me" said Richard III.
Portia's eyes lit up. They kissed. It was pretty cool.
